American entrepreneur Elon Musk leaves the U.S. president Donald Trump administration - informed the Associated Press agency, citing the White home representative. Billionaire oversaw the Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk served as advisor and supervisor in the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE), which was tasked with implementing reforms and improving the operation of the US national Government. In the entry on the X, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX thanked Trump for his cooperation and noted that his time as a “special government employee” had come to an end.

Criticism of the bill and frustration of bureaucracy

Musk's decision appeared just a day after his speech at CBS station, where he powerfully criticized the key administration task – a budget bill supported by Trump and the home of Representatives. He called it “an exaggeration” and impractical, questioning the point of its implementation. In the interview, he besides joked that it is not possible to combine ‘size’ with ‘aesthetics’, referring to Trump's announcement of a ‘great, beautiful bill’.

Musk: Fighting the strategy was harder than I thought.

Musk has declared from the beginning of his work at DOGE that his goal is to importantly reduce public spending – initially up to $2 trillion. Eventually, he managed to reduce costs by only 150 billion. However, he faced interior opposition in administration and bureaucratic difficulties, which had a immense impact on his decision to resign.

As he himself admitted, the clash with the realities of national policy proved to be "significantly more hard than he had anticipated", and the effort to implement reforms was a "hard fight". His frustration grew despite his erstwhile strong commitment to Trump's run – Musk was about $250 million to support her.

DOGE stays, cuts go on

Although Musk leaves the White House, his task – DOGE – will not be solved. On the contrary, Musk himself foresees that the function of the department will proceed to grow. In turn, the Trump administration has already submitted to legislature a plan for further budget cuts of $9.4 billion. It includes reducing public media spending and global aid.

Speaker of the home of Representatives Mike Johnson announced the continuation of austerity in the spirit of DOGE assumptions. Meanwhile, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the proposed package of laws can increase the national deficit by $3.8 trillion in 10 years – which contradicts Republican declarations that economical growth will cover this cost.
