– The starting point is the statistical division which was made in 2018 on the basis of socio-economic factors, the diversification of the interior voivodship – the Warsaw Capital Region at NUTS 2 level was then separated, which covers about 10 districts around Warsaw, including the full Warsaw agglomeration. The north of the Mazovia state is similar. The Płocki, Housing and Ciechanowski regions are much more akin than the Warsaw region. In the south, the Radom region and the Świętokrzyskie region belong to the historical region of the old Polish agglomeration and have the same specificity of post-industrial problems.
