Of the 46 detained against the two, a precautionary measurement in the form of bail was applied, the remaining 44 remaining in custody. The 71-year-old pediatrician Giorgi Czachunaszwili and designer Ia Darachweligze have already gone free after bail.

"We warned everyone that we had more opportunitiesidentifying the attackers more than before," he told the journalists in Gurjahani. “The State must not overlook specified a thing.” "When specified a scale of attacks on state institutions occurs, a decisive consequence is essential to prevent akin attempts in the future. We will bring this substance to an end," he added.

According to the Prime Minister, the moral work for the 4 October events lies “on all those who came to the demonstration”: “This was an action to overthrow power. Around 5–7 000 people took part in it consciously."

The demonstration on October 4 took place on the day of the local elections under the motto of "peaceful overthrow of power". Participants gathered in Freedom Square and headed for the presidential palace of Orbeliani. respective demonstrators breached the metallic barrier and entered the administration courtyard, from where they were denied by the police.

Long prison sentences endanger the detainees; the investigation is carried out with 4 articles of Georgia's Criminal Code:

  • Article 317 – calling for a forceful change in the constitutional strategy or overthrow of power,
  • Article 187 – harm or demolition of property,
  • Article 222 – effort to seize or block a strategical object,
  • Article 225 — organisation, management or participation in group riots.

On social media and opposition portals, it was noted that the metallic barrier in front of the presidential palace "too easy gave way" to respective participants of the action. According to Pirveli's tv channel, it cannot be excluded that the railings were previously "prepared" so that protesters could topple them and enter the courtyard. According to journalists, this is shown by the protest recordings, which may indicate that the authorities had previously known about the opposition's plans.
