Gacharia organization – Behind Georgia decided to end the boycott of parliament and start the execution of parliamentary mandates. The decision was notified by a associate of the political council of the Giorgi Sharashvili organization at a peculiar meeting.

"One year ago, after the parliamentary elections on October 26, our squad unanimously decided on the boycott of parliament. Unfortunately, present we gotta admit that this form of political protest has failed to halt the “bad machine” of the ruling Georgian Dream party. He pointed out that the boycott of parliament, which had turned into a boycott of the full political process, de facto excluded opposition from the political arena. As a consequence – he emphasized – Dreams gained the chance to strengthen authoritarianism without resistance.

Earlier, Parliament terminated the mandate of erstwhile Prime Minister Giorgi Gacharia and 11 members of his party, approving the mandates of 12 fresh deputies who proceed the organization list.

Gacharia himself, under threat of detention, does not return to Georgia from Germany.

Other opposition parties who, according to the results of the Central Election Commission, got into parliament cancelled their organization lists and did not benefit from the mandates received claiming that the election results had been falsified.
