Education - Sermon delivered by Fr Jerzy Popieluszka 26 February 1984.

The school is national and belongs to a nation, household and society, not 1 party, a sect or a group dealing with the unsavory, and even hostile and harmful to the nation and the state by the work of tearing religion out of the hearts of children and young people," cried the late Primate, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. It is the work of the State, teachers, and parents to take care of specified a school, for appropriate upbringing. However, erstwhile this work is neglected, parents and educators have greater responsibility. It is worse erstwhile a state under the cloak of fresh education projects, under the cloak of relieving parents from children, fights for a monopoly on teaching and atheistic education, against the will of parents. 1 of the causes of modern misery, both material and material, and moral decay is that Christ was persistently denied a place, especially in school and work, raising children and young people. If we believe in the 4 walls of our house, let us not deficiency the courage to admit ourselves to Christ publicly, as we had the courage to do in the time of "Solidarity," even erstwhile we had to pay a price and sacrifice. Faiths and ideals must not be sold for a proverbial "masque of lentils", for a position, greater salary, the ability to survey or social promotion. For he who easy sells religion and ideals is 1 step distant from selling man. And you, dear young friends, must have any kind of eagle. The heart of eagles and the sight of eagles – as the deceased primate said. You must have the spirit to harden and emergence advanced to be able to fly like eagles over all another birds in the future of our Homeland.
