Ladies and gentlemen,
We have a key minute ahead of us summarizing respective months of preparation and respective months of hard work of the Centre of Life and household and the Ordo Iuris Institute.
As you well know, the Centre of Life and household has been conducting large-scale social activities promoting the initiative "Stop Pornography Drugs". We managed to mobilise thousands of Poles to submit over 210 000 signatures under a task protecting children from this virtual threat.
Today, experts and authors of the bill take work for the task – with mec. Raphael Dorosinski headed.
Of course, we are inactive working side by side, with full common support, which I am besides asking for!
So I ask you to read direct information from Rafał, who will tell us what is ahead of us in the coming days.
Marcin Perłowski,
Director of the Life and household Centre, Vice president of the Management Board
Ladies and gentlemen,
I will talk in front of the Polish Sejm next week (Thursday, March 6th), besides on your behalf.
For this day, the first seismic reading – prepared by lawyers Ordo Iuris – of the bill, was planned, providing protection of children and young people from pornography. The adoption of this project, inspired by government already adopted in France and a number of states in the US, will force effective verification of the age of persons entering pornographic sites.
Today, erstwhile specified provisions are missing – The average age erstwhile 12 and 14-year-olds surveyed by the NASK State investigation Institute first encountered pornography is... little than 11 years! 1 in 3 children admitted that they had first encountered pornographic content accidentally. As much as 73% declared that uncovering pornography did not give them any difficulty, and the regular practice of watching pornographic materials declared all 4th (!) 16-year-old.
We can't waste months of tremendous effort from many people of goodwill., who in sweat collected signatures for our task among family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, parishes and communities and local communities. 212,000 Poles signed the task – so more than twice as much as the bill requires!
In order for our initiative to be successful, we must now get Members to support it. No 1 will do it for us. That is why we must mobilize and make the Members aware of how many Poles want to defend their children from vulgar pornography.
It's beyond political divisions. No parent, regardless of political views, wants his kid accidentally to encounter vulgar porn online. It carries a hazard of dependence based on mechanisms akin to those of drug, tobacco, alcohol or gambling. Pornography presents young people as average what perverted, dangerous and risky. According to the most cautious estimates of 1 in 3 specified films show sexual force or aggression against women. Pornographic productions normalize betrayal, humiliation and humiliation. Regular viewing of pornography stimulates teenagers to premature initiation and risky sexual behavior.
It is no wonder that the initiative to restrict access to pornography for minors enjoys the support of the majority of the population and the government has already announced their own solutions. Who knows, possibly a combination of social work, initiated by our project, with government work, will be so expected to interact beyond divisions for a good cause.
We will strive for the best solutions, which the rulers present seem to care about, and which will be appreciated by parents, grandparents, teachers, educators, and all who have the good of their children!
This can only happen if our proposal is addressed to further committee work. That is why politicians request to feel social force today.
First, The most crucial action is the “Call the MP!” action, in which we encourage you and all those afraid with the safety of children online to call and compose emails to MPs and visit parliamentary offices.
Each of us can personally contact the elected associate or Membersto make them aware of how crucial their presence in the Sejm will be for the future and encourage them to support our project
In order to aid you in contact with your Members, We have prepared a website that includes:
- an example of instructions on how to interview a associate or an worker of the parliamentary office;
- addresses of parliamentary offices, telephones and e-mails to parliamentarians (divided into voivodships).
A second expression of social force is simply a website calling on Members to rapidly adopt a bill to guarantee children's safety on the Internet. You can sign it by clicking on the link below:
I believe that the engagement of thousands of peoplewho want to effectively defend their children from the perverse content devastate their psyche, It will translate into the success of our action "Stop Narcotics Pornography".
We have an intense work ahead of us in parliamentary committees and parliamentary committeesthat the effective solutions proposed by us to defend children from online pornography are adopted. We must present to Members and to the public the votes of experts, statistics, circumstantial information on French or American legal solutions.
However, to do this, we will besides request financial support from our initiative and further expert parliamentary work. Collecting 212,000 signatures and bringing the bill to the Sejm has already cost us a large deal – for example, in the form of forms, information materials, banners, travel, meetings and promotion of initiatives in conventional and electronic media.
And we inactive have quite a few work and expenses ahead of us. We inactive request resources to carry out communication activities, publicise the problem, scope Members and government and further monitoring of government on kid protection developed in another countries.
These are very circumstantial costs that we cannot cope with without the support of people who want Polish children to be duly protected from pornography on the Internet.
In the erstwhile parliamentary term, the conservative government announced the adoption of a bill designed to defend children from unrestricted access to hard pornography. Then, however, – to the delight of porn business, who earns gigantic money to destruct lives innocent and unaware of the dangers of watching pornography for young people – The task did not go to the Sejm. Pornolobby won...
Today, thanks to the immense work of volunteers, who have collected 212,000 signatures under the civilian bill as part of the “Stop Narcotics Pornography” run – The parliament will take care of kid safety on the Internet. The success of our many months of action is at hand. It is adequate to convince parliamentarians to stand on the side of Polish children, alternatively than gaining money from human pornography.
Therefore, one more time I powerfully encourage you to take part in the action "Call the MP!“, signing our petitions and support our fight for the young generation of Poles.
With respect
adw. Rafał Dorosinski,
Member of the Board of the Institute for Legal Culture Ordo Iuris
