The celebrations of the National Day of the 3rd May are an expression of Poles' attachment to the values of freedom, sovereignty and work for the state. This is the day erstwhile the national community confirms the importance of the heritage of the Constitution on 3 May – as the foundation of modern patriotism and inspiration for modern public life.
– The most crucial thing in the Constitution of May 3 was that it was ready to make a modern Poland of the future, based on the tripartition of power, based on citizenship and civilian rights for townspeople. That this constitution bent over the agricultural people, as it was called, it was the most modern constitution for those times," said Karol Nawrocki.
The celebrations of the National Feast of the 3rd May began with a Mass of Thanksgiving in the intention of the Homeland in the Church of Mary parent Church. Before the Memorial of the failure of the Homeland, the Hymn of the Republic of Poland began ceremonies which were enriched with an artistic performance performed by the girls from DOK. After an occasional speech, representatives of local authorities, MPs at the Polish Parliament, associations, schools, educational and cultural institutions, clergy and municipal institutions laid wreaths, flowers and lit candles. On behalf of Michał Dworczyk and Grzegorz Macko, flowers at the Memorial of the failure of Homeland were presented by Aneta Przybyła – manager of the post office. During the ceremony at the monument, the honorary Association of Historical Reconstruction "Spin", prison service, state police and soldiers from the 16th Lower Silesian OT Brigade were exhibited. A touching event of today's celebration was unveiling columns devoted to Polish uprisings. The Memorial Sites of the Polish Orchestra were located behind the Memorial of the failure of Homeland. The prayer for the insurgents was refused by the Dean of the Decanate of Dzierżoniów by Fr. May the memory of the values that form the foundation of our freedom be alive in us all day! A large group of residents took part in the manifestation despite the rain, a good forecast for the future. I will not cast the earth from where our family... — Mary Konopnicka’s song — ended a patriotic meeting.
The National Constitution 3 May celebration in Dzierżoniów was attended by representatives of: the Polish Dzierżoniów II paper Club, the Civic Patriotic Movement, the PiS, the Lech Kaczyński Social Movement, the National Confederation Movement, another patriotic and conservative organizations, associations and residents. For years we have remembered this crucial legal act, which should be reminded especially of the generation of young Poles. We believe that another May 3rd Christmas will be celebrated as always solemnly and dignifiedly.
