Twice “Macbeth”, i.e. senza opera amore on the scenes of Frankfurt and Berlin

Thomas Guggeis at the Frankfurt Opera and Enrique Mazzola at Deutsche Oper Berlin conduct Verdi's “Macbeth”. 1 is ominously dark, the another is loudly brightened. The performances are just as different as the recording by the musicians – R.B. Schlater's successful production in Frankfurt and at most Marie-Ève Signeyrole's average directorship in Berlin has a completely different theatrical dynamics and mood.
