In the early morning hours, the Operations Command of the Types of Armed Forces reported on platform X that in consequence to the Russian Federation's attack on targets located in the territory of Ukraine, Polish airspace is conducting operations of Polish and allied aviation.

In accordance with applicable procedures, the operational commander of the RFA has activated all available forces and resources at his disposal. On-call hunting pairs and early-warning aircraft were picked up, and ground-based air defence and radio-location systems reached their highest readiness.

As underlined, these activities are preventive and service to defend and safe airspace, peculiarly in areas bordering areas of possible threat. The Polish Air Navigation Agency informed that due to the request to guarantee freedom of operation of military aviation, the airport in Radom and Lublin was temporarily closed.

Standard procedure
