Duda hard on candidates’ addictions: ‘This should be checked’

President Duda says directly: "The armed force's superior cannot be influenced." It supports the thought of mandatory drug investigating for candidates for the highest office in the country and declares itself ready to study. “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I’m ready at all times of day and night,” he stresses.


On Monday, president Andrzej Duda stressed that times are very hard and the head of the armed forces cannot have addictions that origin him to not full consciously make decisions on the most crucial matters. It would be rather reasonable if specified a question were actually examined - he noted.

The president believes that "it would be entirely reasonable if specified a question were actually examined". He noted that he himself did not undergo specified tests, but was ready for them at any time. "I, in performing this function and besides looking at the experience of the Polish presidency, have not consumed alcohol for years, quit smoking in 2017. I have a very sporty way of life, just to stay in good shape, to be as prepared as possible to service at any time of day and night" - he said.
