President Duda says directly: "The armed force's superior cannot be influenced." On Monday, president Andrzej Duda stressed that times are very hard and the head of the armed forces cannot have addictions that origin him to not full consciously make decisions on the most crucial matters. It would be rather reasonable if specified a question were actually examined - he noted.
On Monday, ZET Duda Radio was asked about the question of examining candidates for the office of president for illegal substances specified as drugs. "The times are very hard and the man who is the head of the armed forces who has the work for the safety of the Republic in the Constitution cannot have specified addictions, habits that origin him not to full consciously make decisions on these most crucial matters, whether there is simply a anticipation that he will not full consciously take them, due to the fact that he will be influenced by any psychoactive substances" - Duda replied.
The president believes that "it would be entirely reasonable if specified a question were actually examined". He noted that he himself did not undergo specified tests, but was ready for them at any time. "I, in performing this function and besides looking at the experience of the Polish presidency, have not consumed alcohol for years, quit smoking in 2017. I have a very sporty way of life, just to stay in good shape, to be as prepared as possible to service at any time of day and night" - he said.
