"Second Breakfast in Leviathan" with Minister of Justice

Participants discussed claims, including the bill proposed by Leviathan, a government draft alleged Franc Act and planned changes in the digitalisation of the judiciary.

An efficient and predictable justice strategy is the foundation of a well-functioning economy. For entrepreneurs, fast procedures, transparent procedures and effective enforcement of claims are key – he stressed Marek Górski, president of Leviathan, beginning a meeting.

He added that the Confederation of Leviathan is willing to participate in the work on improving the courts and improving the conditions of doing business in Poland.

In the first part of the meeting, Adrian Zwolinski, manager of the Department of Financial marketplace and Corporate Law of the Confederation of Leviathan, presented current issues concerning the debt market, including the rationalisation of the protection of remuneration against execution, the institution of repo services, the issue of economical information and the concept of setting up the Credit Board.

The second part of the gathering took the form of a discussion during which Minister Waldemar Żurek presented the position of the Ministry of Justice, answering questions from the participants of the meeting. The scope of the subjects covered was very wide – from crucial and current issues of the regulation of law, through the improvement of the State Labour Inspectorate, alternate dispute resolution methods or the directive on improving sex balance among directors of listed companies ("Women on Boards").

Today's gathering with entrepreneurs at Leviathan's office showed how many circumstantial challenges are presently facing Polish business – from the function of the State Labour Inspection and fresh regulations, to issues related to unfair competition. It was a conversation about very applicable problems that entrepreneurs face on a regular basis – the minister concluded. "I hope that this dialog will continue. The voice of entrepreneurs should be heard in different bodies, including at government meetings – so that the strategy is simple, understandable and gives a sense of stableness of business. It is crucial to rebuild the regulation of law and institutions that uphold the quality of the law, due to the fact that only unchangeable and well-consulted regulations give entrepreneurs and citizens a sense of security.

The Ministry of Justice besides represented: Anna Marczak, Deputy manager of the civilian and economical Law Department, Dominic Ziętara, Deputy manager of the Communication and Promotion Office, and Press Secretary of the Minister of Justice, as well as Paweł Zieliński, Social Advisor to the Minister of Justice.

Second Breakfast in Leviathan is simply a series of closed meetings with key representatives of state administration, initiated by the Leviathan Confederation. In erstwhile editions were hosted by Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domanski, Minister of wellness Jolanta Sobieranska-Grenda together with Katarzyna Anna Kacperczyk, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Health, Wojciech Balczun, Minister of State Assets, Miłosz Motyka, Minister of Energy and Karol Rabenda, State Secretary at the Chancellery of the president of Poland.

The gathering was held on 9 March at the seat of the Confederate Leviathan.
