– As of 2 March (some as of 29 January), there are crucial penalties for certain offences and traffic offences. In fresh decades, all subsequent governments have felt that this is the best way to improve road safety.
– The strengthening of penalties does not gotta translate into improving road safety. It is alternatively a calming of the conscience of those who tighten the rules that they have done everything possible to change our behavior. And these behaviors, not only in traffic, are not based on fear of punishment, but on accepting a certain social contract. The rules are a form of a social agreement, according to which we ourselves are sentenced to certain restrictions to foretell what can happen in traffic. Breaking this agreement involves certain penalties, which are determined by parliamentarians. This is all consistent, provided that the chosen people are the emanation of our interests, of our needs, and that may be different.
