The head of the FCAS Programme at Airbus Defence and Space, Bruno Fichefeaux seeks to emphasise the importance of a European and, in fact, today's German-French-Spanish programme, for the improvement of a concept of usage on the battlefield of various classes of unmanned flying ships. Future Combat Air strategy is simply a comprehensive programme for the improvement of the Future Air Combat System, as its name says. In its center are manned aircraft, surrounded by unmanned machines, which are to execute the most hard tasks and be continuous support and protection for the most valuable and costly component of the full strategy – man and his aircraft.
