A Tragic Incident
One individual died at the scene and the another died in a infirmary in Szczecin. A tragic incidental occurred during retreat maneuvers. Driver BWP-1, a combat infantry car, raided 2 military units. A 20-year-old private died at the scene, and a 28-year-old corporal went dense to infirmary in Szczecin. They both served in the Warsaw Armored Brigade.
The accident occurred on March 5 at about 8:50 p.m. on the tactical belt “Bought” during the exercise. Colonel Bartłomiej Okoniewski, Deputy territory lawyer for Military Affairs in Poznań, reported that an investigation was initiated into the origin of the military equipment accident with fatality in accordance with Article 355(2) of the Criminal Code. Drivers of the vehicle are facing punishment from 6 months to 8 years in prison.
President Andrzej Duda and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of National Defence, who expressed their condolences to the families of dead soldiers, responded after the tragedy. As a sign of mourning, the state flags in all military units will be lowered to half the mast.
On 5 March 2024 in the morning at PĆT Drawsko Pomorskie there was an unfortunate accident involving 1st Armoured Brigade soldiers.

Vehicle specification
BWP-1 is capable of carrying infantry, providing protection against handgun missiles and fire support. It is simply a russian machine, launched in 1966, designed to work with tanks. It weighs 12.5 tonnes and in combat conditions 13.5 tonnes. The axle is up to 65 km/h and can accommodate eleven people.
The crew are: commander, gunman-operator, driver and 8 landing troops. In the tower is the main armament of the car – 73-millimeter 2A28 Grom cannon and the device weapon of the CCIT. The vehicle is besides equipped with an anti-tank rocket launcher guided and smoke grenade launchers.
