More than 100 of these dozens of children have been poisoned. Holidaymakers rested on the popular beach in Nazareth in central-western Portugal.
All those who were poisoned were resting on the beach, enjoying the charms of summer. shortly after the bath, they experienced vomiting and diarrhoea. Only during the weekend, more than 100 people reported to local hospitals, including 73 children. The number of patients is inactive increasing.
It turned out that the poisoning could be caused by contamination of sea water as a consequence of a failure of the local sewage network. Pollutants fell right into the water where the beachers were relaxing. Although already on Sunday, the authorities restored the beach to usage and it was announced that the swimming pool was safe, vacationers like to be safe.
