Moscow sank in the Black Sea on 14 April 2022 after being hit by Ukrainian anti-ship missiles. After a fewer hours of fighting the fire, the ship tilted overboard and sank. An unspecified number of Russian sailors were killed (only 3 killed were initially reported). According to the authoritative version, there was a fire on board that caused the ammunition to detonate. The Russian authorities refused to admit that the reason was Ukrainian attack.
