– When they return to the country, of course, they receive a pension erstwhile they are incapable to serve, but compensation or another means of surviving is simply a complicated and long way of court. It is trialling with the institutions of the state, frequently ending with nothing from a veteran's point of view. So we decided that all Polish veteran who suffered wellness harm during the mission would receive PLN 6,000 for all percent of wellness failure on his return to the country. It sounds a small theoretical, but it means that, for example, a soldier who lost his arm will be able to number on over half a million zlotys and this will not be the consequence of long-term procedures – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk, presenting proposals for amendments to the Veterans Act.
The Head of Government stressed that the decision was to be administrative and that the proceedings were to be automatic.
– There will be an evaluation by the medical committee in which the percent of the veteran lost wellness and the automatic decision to grant 6,000 per cent. I'd like all veterans to take this bill as a low bow for having to wait so long.
The fresh law is intended to apply to all veterans, including those already injured, and not only those who will be affected in the future. May 29 is Veteran Day Activities outside the country's borders.
