

Why are we writing about this?
Today in Gdańsk, EU Commissioners are taking part in a joint gathering with the Polish Government. The visit of the European Commission as a whole, headed by its head Ursula von der Leyen, has been linked to the Presidency held by Poland in the Council of the European Union since the beginning of January.
The Friday gathering is held at the European Solidarity Centre. Its culmination will be a joint conference of the EC Chief and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Before that, Tusk and von der Leyen met in private and placed a symbolic message on the wall of Solidarity in ECS.
Farmers protest against ECS. What is it?
A protest of farmers is taking place in front of the European Solidarity Centre. Solidarity representatives are protesting the European Green Deal. Demonstrators talk about the threats they believe arise from EU policy — advanced energy prices, occupation losses and a decline in competitiveness, both in Poland and in the European economy.
Piotr Duda hits Donald Tusk. What did he say?

— Prime Minister Tusk, we say: check! If you have actually reviewed your views on the Green Deal, then let's check it out at the referendum on the Green Deal. Solidarity has already finished collecting signatures for a national Green Deal referendum. But we know that you are a large liar. (...) I call on Prime Minister Tusk to declare a referendum! As Poles, we want to be hosts in our own country!
