Prime Minister Donald Tusk in conversation with Election paper He referred to the relation with the fresh president Karol Nawrocki and the consequences of his triumph in the election. According to the head of government, the biggest loser of this consequence is not his political camp, but Jarosław Kaczyński, who loses influence on the right.
Tusk notes that Nawrocki is favoured by the current political arrangement and the time he has ahead of him – a five-year word gives him large comfort without having to make hard decisions.
There are 5 years before Nawrocki. For a Polish politician, it's been a long time. And Kaczyński's biggest problem is that Braun and Sławomir Mentzen clearly revolve around Nawrocki and treat him as a possible leader – It does.
According to the Prime Minister, the fresh president is not curious in building relations with the government, and his attitude confirms his deficiency of cooperation.
New powers of the President
The Prime Minister points out that in fresh years the function of the president in Poland has changed. 2 terms of office of Andrzej Duda, through many arrangements from the Law and the extension of office powers, led to a situation in which the head of state has a real impact on government decisions and can effectively block its actions. Tusk emphasizes that Nawrocki is happy to usage these tools.
The presidency in Poland has long since ceased to be chandelier, because, paradoxically, the weakest president in our fresh history, Andrzej Duda, through various unusual agreements and fairs with the Law and Justice, received statutory additional competences. This plus various interpretations of the constitution and uzus resulting from many years of practice gives the president a real chance to spoil, influence, block – Tusk assessed.
Despite the clear differences in planet view, the Prime Minister declares that he cares for good organization cooperation with the President. At the same time, he points out that Nawrocki's current attitude undermines relations between the government and the head of state, which he believes is detrimental to the functioning of the state. As an example, it points to the fresh crisis concerning the appointment of officers in peculiar services, suspended by the President, which require the Prime Minister's countersignature.
