Donald Tusk fell... left

niepoprawni.pl 1 year ago

The last volt of the new-old fireworker totalitarian position by many, including those writing these words, is treated as a desperate effort to grow his electorate in the upcoming elections. But there are those who take Tusk seriously.

Jan Radomski is simply a PhD student at the Faculty of Sociology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Besides, he's a publicist. Political criticisms, as well as its texts Adam Michnik's political fiction fan (d. Electoral Newspaper).

The last 2 propaganda videos posted in public space by Donald Tusk seemingly shook it, which was reflected in the text published in KP on 6 July 2023 under a very meaningful title Tusk does not drift dangerously close anti-migration rhetoric, but speaks racist.

Donald Tusk consistently speaks racist language. It smuggles between poems 1 of the most scandalous content in the past of Polish politics, which can be compared to Kaczyński's words about "parasites and primordials in exile organisms".

I would be glad if the discussion about 2 films already published by Donald Tusk could be closed with the conclusion that Tusk is cynically pursuing – with Law and Justice or Confederation – about the right-wing electorate. It would not be wise of him, but at least short - word and most likely little harmful. However, the problem is much deeper.

In 2016, H. Samy Alim, John Rickford, and Arnetha Ball published a book that opened the way for a fresh technological discipline: Rasollinguistics. Scientists and scientists from many areas showed in it that race and language are permanently intertwined, and race is created and strengthened mainly by how we talk about it. This is just a improvement of constructivist theories, including Zygmunt Bauman, who wrote in the erstwhile century that the race is primarily shaped in social or political processes.

What worries me most about both recordings of Tusk is the language utilized by individual who may shortly take power in Poland. To be honest, although it's hard for me to go through a keyboard, I'm more afraid of Tusk than the 1 who uses the current power. Violence from the radicalized right is expected, we can prepare for it, in any cases effort to answer it. But the language of the erstwhile Prime Minister is shocking. Just as it surprises and paralyzes the force of individual who should defend us from it.

The first movie published by the erstwhile Prime Minister is disgusting in this respect. With his face overtaken and sublime music in the background, Tusk speaks of protests in France. Not a word digs into their causes, it only puts a sharp sign of equality between what is happening in French cities and the followers and followers of Islam.

I will not compose about the causes of these events, after all, a fewer clicks distant from dozens of interesting texts on this subject. On the 1 hand, the violentness of French protests can be understood as a consequence of stigmatisation, on the another hand – as a individual voice by those who have not been heard before. After all, this is how the French society has been protesting – unbridled, radically – always since, even the older, whiter and more Catholic part of it. It's worth considering, but there's no reason to panic.

To compose that the situation in France is complex is like not writing anything. However, for Tusk, it is clearly simple. He starts by being “shocked” erstwhile watching scenes of “the riot”. As if in 2018, erstwhile at least 10 people died during the protests of yellow vests, he was not the president of the European Council. I besides checked whether, in January, during stormy protests against raising retirement age, he recorded likewise alarming videos. He wasn't recording.

It should be worrying that Donald Tusk, a politician, frequently referred to as "European" format, is not curious in a deeper reflection on events in France. Especially since apart from the local aspect, it is besides another manifestation of global social change, of which there may be another protests, headed by Black Lives substance – language changes, hierarchy changes, subjectivity to those that will make our planet for decades to come. The 1 Donald Tusk wants to co-ordinate. Instead of trying to realize it, he prefers to usage simple – and unfortunately racist – associations that derive it from moral and political errors.

When we compose present about racism, we are not talking about a phenomenon that refers to hierarchizing people for reasons of biological characteristics, or 1 that results in force in open, physical form. As Mustafa Switat writes: "New racism [...] divides people into their own and strangers, into us and them, aliens are not inferior, but belong to a different culture and hence should not have the same rights and privileges as the native population. Thus, alternatively of distinguishing only a race, as in the case of classical racism, this fresh racism is simply a fundamental criterion distinguishing groups recognise culture."

This is what Donald Tusk does in his films. Besides, he does it in an highly mediocre intellectual way. In the first one, it is horrified to mention "such a state" (this is simply a quote that is repeated repeatedly), referring to countries that associate with Islam. Propaganda uses their full names only erstwhile they mention to religion: it lists the muslim Republic of Iran and the muslim Republic of Pakistan, and ignores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the national Republic of Nigeria. Interestingly, It besides mentions India, in which Islam is not even a dominant religion. But it is clearly a characteristic of the Civic Coalition's failure of knowledge, due to the fact that a fewer weeks ago the same mistake was made by Jan Grabić.

In the second one, it reaches for the category of “Muslim States” (such inscription throughout the full movie is in the background!), which is not objectivized in any way. The erstwhile Prime Minister uses – most likely without a origin – the table that Demagog has created, but... with sympathy for this service, this is not the place he should scope for in specified a serious substance specified a serious politician. The service itself writes about the fact that the analysis is based on ad hoc assumptions.

In both films, Donald Tusk presents “shocking” – this is again a quote – data on how many people from “Muslim countries” received approval to work for the regulation of Law and Justice. The graph behind it stings in the eyes: the red pole grows rapidly after 2015. However, Tusk does not agree on what conclusion we gotta draw from this. Is it bad that people from another countries legally work in Poland? Tusk doesn't talk due to the fact that erstwhile he brings up a racist language construct, he knows we're going to tell ourselves.

In this way, he uses what scientists and scientists who are rasolingist call languaging race – the construction of race utilizing language. Muslims in Polish society have been averse since 11 September 2001, but since 2015 – erstwhile the migration crisis was propagandaally exploited by the right - they have begun to origin horror. "Arab" has become a kind of figure (this association I besides mention to as Mustasfa Switat), which carries fear, threatens our identity and civilization. This is confirmed by many social studies; in fresh years it has been “Arab” that the Poles and Poles least want to have as their neighbour.

When the erstwhile Prime Minister says, “PiS has issued more residence permits than France and Germany together” (which is not real information, due to the fact that Tusk's residence permits mix with work permits), it launches an automatic string of associations, but simultaneously – it reproduces it, strengthens it.

Between the poems, the erstwhile Prime Minister smuggles 1 of the most scandalous content in the past of Polish politics, which can be compared to the memorable words of Jarosław Kaczyński about "parasites and primordials in exile organisms". In the second film, after information about the number of people working in Poland from “Muslim countries”, Tusk speaks of the government's actions, but clearly giving an eye to arabian terrorism: "But the real bomb is inactive preparing for us." Not only due to the stigmatisation of Muslims and Muslims, but besides due to the war going on abroad, which requires reflection on the application of certain comparisons, This message should be included on the list of disgrace of Polish politics. In the first film, in a similar, ambiguous context, Tusk speaks of “the dangers lurking around the corner”.

The erstwhile Prime Minister easy deprives immigrants of their subjectivity, even erstwhile he himself accuses the government of their dehumanization. He says that “Kaczyński has brought [citizens of another states]” or “wants to let them in” – as if migrants were simply pawns on the chessboard. In a akin way, it is, of course, said about refugees and refugees on the border with Belarus erstwhile presented not as people, but as marionettes in the Lukashenko and Putin theatre. At the end of the second film, Donald Tusk casts a fewer lofty words about how everyone deserves respect. But it doesn't substance anymore, the intended message has already reached us.

Again: Today, racism seldom means preaching views of the primacy of 1 group over another. These are utmost cases, and no 1 thinks it is the leader of the civilian Coalition. In 2 films published by Donald Tusk, the way of reasoning and speaking by the erstwhile Prime Minister fits perfectly into what modern social sciences describe racism: setting the border between ‘we’ and ‘you’, identifying the groups of strangers thus indicated, the ease of setting courts and assigning characteristics to certain social groups, the reluctance to see the complexity of the phenomena in question. Muslims and Muslims according to Donald Tusk are a mass to be feared and Poles “must regain control of their state and its borders”.

Imagine this on another example: alternatively of Donald Tusk there is simply a white American politician in the films, alternatively of protests in France there is Black Lives Matter, and alternatively of Muslims there are black Americans. The protest images mix with the growth illustration of the percent of black people in American society. These would be words that would end the career of any American politician who would not come from a extremist right.

Perhaps Donald Tusk knows all this. Assuming he does not know, I accept a version that is more beneficial to him, due to the fact that if racism in his speech is simply a conscious choice, if the erstwhile Prime Minister deliberately uses a language that hurts and strengthens violence, it would be disqualifying for him. However, I think that at least a crucial part of what Donald Tusk says and says simply comes from his views. What language we usage is the consequence of our consciousness, our full life experience. It's not that easy to go to individual you're not. So Tusk is only a kid of his time.

But in this case, my threshold of knowing is comparatively low. We are not talking about a politician who is where he is, by accident. For years, Tusk held the most crucial functions in national and European politics. He saw many things, he learned another cultures, lived in Belgium for years, where the society makes 8 percent of Muslims and Muslims. He has all kind of capital that he could, if he wanted, effort to realize the modern world. And he could have been retired for respective years, where no 1 but his loved ones would have any demands on him. He deliberately made a different decision.

The erstwhile Prime Minister has a chance to usage his experience and cognition to show this part of Polish society, which trusts him that it is not worth fearing diversity, it is not worth simplifying the planet around, that it is not worth making decisions under the influence of fear and abrupt emotions. And although I am convinced that specified courage and clarity would aid him politically, I besides realize that he is playing a political game according to his own strategy, which assumes reactivity. So I request nothing from him but simple decency. And the usage of hatred as a policy tool is precisely the limit for which Tusk should at least apologize.

Some critics of the leader of the Civic Coalition propose that Tusk reaches for specified a language cynically. It would be nasty, but in a way optimistic. If he felt that the desperate Tusk of racism was grasping, he might have let him go soon. But I'm afraid it's not. erstwhile – and possibly future – Prime Minister of our country simply consistently speaks racist language.

I have quoted the above text in its entirety; mine are only the bulging of sentences which I consider peculiarly crucial for knowing the whole. It should besides be remembered that, unlike others, this text by Jan Radomski has not yet been published in Michnik's organ.

It is apparent that there is simply a considerable danger of the “front to the unity of the nation” mounted by the mentioned Tusk in order to regain the promised power in Magdalena. However, for a conscious leftist, Tusk speaking the same language as Kaczyński is simply a traitor. For it is in the most laity of lay ideals...

So what choice is that?

A Radomski writes clearly:

What worries me most about both recordings of Tusk is the language utilized by individual who may shortly take power in Poland. To be honest, although it's hard for me to go through a keyboard, I'm more afraid of Tusk than the 1 who uses the current power. Violence from the radicalized right is expected, we can prepare for it, in any cases effort to answer it. But the language of the erstwhile Prime Minister is shocking. Just as it surprises and paralyzes the force of individual who should defend us from it.

Is Tusk promising to all groups and groups of voters virtually everything (beyond the PiS electorate of course) by his overzealousness will lead to the creation of a slogan on the left, which was to break down the right-wing electorate in 2015:

WIS – JUST BAD?

For me, this is simply a cynical game calculated to attract an utmost electorate, but focused mainly around the Confederate. And I'm going to bet that this was the reason for these videos.

It is besides crucial to remember how powerfully the Euroleft is convinced of the utmost right-wing character of the Law and Justice, etc. We remember consistently calling the March of Independence... fascist.

In this context, Tusk, who tries at all costs to be a right-wing ultrasound, can at least awaken resentment.

So it looks like Donaldino found himself... 1 bridge besides far.

Although polls show increasing support, we remember that before the first circular of the 2015 presidential election, Komorowski was to support about 70% of the electorate.

The last volts of Tusk can so indicate that the fact is anything another than that served to us by each tv station, and respective times a day.

However, did Tusk shoot himself in the (left) leg we will not see until autumn.
