"The White home prevented an Associated Press reporter from attending an event at the Oval Office on Tuesday after demanding an information agency to change its approach to the Gulf of Mexico, which president Donald Trump ordered to renamed the Gulf of America," reports AP agency.
It wasn't the only case that day. Another reporter for this agency was invited from the gathering in the Diplomatic Admission area in the evening. In the case, the editor-in-chief of the Associated Press, Julie Pace, spoke.

"It is worrying that the Trump administration wants to punish AP for independent journalism. Restricting our access to the Oval Office on the basis of content published by the AP not only seriously impedes the public's access to independent messages but besides clearly violates the first amendment," Pace writes. AP explains the fact that the Gulf of Mexico has been utilized for over 400 years.
Donald Trump made the decision to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico shortly after taking office as president of the United States again. This was met with large opposition from another countries, which argued that it was a unilateral decision and made without the consent of the another countries that lie over this water, Mexico and Cuba. Trump, however, did not intend to ask anyone's approval to do so.
