According to a White home message, Trump agreed on Tuesday with Putin that the first step towards ending the fighting would be a ceasefire on attacks on infrastructure and power installations. The leaders besides agreed to open negotiations in the mediate East on the ceasefire in the Black Sea and further steps towards peace.
The Kremlin announced after the conversation that Putin had agreed to halt attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure for 30 days. According to the message, he was about to give the army an order. However, the media noted that respective hours after the conversation Russian troops bombed electrical installations in Slaviansk.
The agreement on energy facilities and infrastructure is much narrower than the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in airspace, sea and land, to which Ukraine had previously agreed in negotiations with the US.
