— They are under the influence to end this thing due to the fact that Ukraine wants to end it — I think it has to end it and Russia wants to end it,” Trump said during his Monday cabinet meeting. The president of the United States responded thus to the question of the proposition of the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski in an interview with the weekly “Time” that people from his surroundings are influenced by Russian propaganda.
As the weekly paper wrote, Zelenski observed a pattern in which White home officials began to believe Vladimir Putin at a word, even if they denied the information of American intelligence, as in the case of alleged Ukrainian troops' surroundings by Russians in the Kursk Oblast.
— I believe that Russia has managed to influence any people in the White home team. The signal (from Russia) for Americans was that Ukrainians did not want to end the war and that something had to be done to force them to do so," the Ukrainian president said.
Trump's man believed Putin's word
The accused of replicating Russian propaganda has late been, among others, the chief U.S. negotiator in talks with Russia Steve Witkoff, who, during a fresh interview, revealed that Putin had told him that he had Ukrainians surrounded in the Kursk Oblast and that he would gladly spare their lives if they lifted the white flag. U.S. intelligence has denied the Ukrainians being surrounded, though both Trump and Witkoff suggested they believed Putin's words.
On Monday, in defence of Witkoff, who besides suggested that Russian territorial demands were legitimate, and Putin's ambitions limited to only a fewer regions of Ukraine stood by Vice president J.D. Vance.
"Steve Witkoff is simply a large guy who does an amazing job. People who criticize him are angry that he is successful where they have suffered defeat for 40 years. It turns out that much of diplomacy comes down to simple skills: don’t be an idiot," Vance wrote on platform X.
When asked about Witkoff's statements on the designation of the merits of Russian territorial claims, the spokesperson for the State Department of Tammy Bruce was incapable to give a clear answer as to whether he expressed an administrative position in this matter.
— There are many conversations, but I cannot comment on the vast majority of them," said Bruce, adding that the main nonsubjective of the United States is to accomplish peace and save human life.
