Donald Trump is making claims against Panama. "We can request the return of the channel"

President-elect Donald Trump accused Panama of charging besides advanced rates for utilizing the Panama Canal. He announced that if Panama did not manage the canal in an "acceptable" way for the U.S., he would request that the canal be returned to the United States.
