Mexico's president Claudia Sheinbaum besides provided information about the suspension of duties, who spoke to Trump by telephone on Monday.
"The duties are suspended for a period from now," Sheinbaum wrote on platform X.
Trump, in turn, stressed that the conversation between the 2 leaders "was very cordial" and added that negotiations would take place during the month's suspension of duties to accomplish an "agreement" with Mexico.
Sheinbaum besides announced sending an additional 10,000 National defender agents to the northern border "to fight drug smuggling from Mexico to the United States, especially fentanyl".
