1. Trump announced in February that after taking over, as president, the position of president of the Kennedy Center would close the doors of this cultural institution on time for about a two-year restoration task that would start in July. Current board members with voting rights – all elected by Trump – approved the renovation.
Last December, the Centre's board voted to change the name to "Trump Kennedy Center". Shortly after voting on the building facade before Kennedy's name, 18 fresh letters were added, which read: “Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Artistic Arts.”
This change was besides reflected on the website and promotional material of events. erstwhile White home press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced a change in social media, she said it was “because of the incredible work president Trump has done in the last year to save the building”.
Trump's takeover of the center from the beginning was marked by controversy. Many artists withdrew from the performances.
2. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested this week that legislature should pass a bill allowing president Donald Trump's image to be placed on the fresh $250 bill, commemorating the 2 100 and 50 anniversary of the United States' uprising on 4 July.
Bessent said that the bill may amend the existing law, which prohibits the placing of images of surviving people on American banknotes. The bill was passed in 1886 and provides that only the ‘portrait of the deceased’ can be placed on banknotes.
In October 2025, the U.S. Treasury Department presented various single-dollar coin designs with Trump's image as possible options for the 250th anniversary. Like the 250-dollar banknote, the single-dollar banknote has not been officially introduced due to the applicable law.
