The Air Military Academy in Dęblin gained a modern Pilot's Cottage, in which the students will prepare for flights. The fresh investment at the Orląt School is intended to improve the training of future pilots and rise its standard to the requirements of modern military aviation.
On 8 July, the Air Military Academy in Dęblin officially opened the Pilot's Cottage – a modern facility, which will from now on be the center of preparation for flying personnel. It is simply a fresh phase in the functioning of the oak tree Schools of Orląt.
– First of all, the standard changes for patients – says Colonel Pil. Grzegorz Weltrowski, commander of the Academic Aviation Training Centre, stresses that the most crucial change is the creation of 1 place where the full crew preparation cycle will take place.
To date, the individual elements of the training process – pre-start briefing, mission analysis and post-flight briefings – required movement between buildings, which took time and made organisation difficult, especially with a large number of flights and many training groups. “We utilized any place that was available,” admits Dr. David Tymanowski. The recently built building is intended to supply users with comfort preparation. – So that we can do everything in 1 place – he adds, pointing to the basic advantage of the fresh object.
In practice, this means shorter flight preparation times, better organisation of instructors and more effective training of subjects. The facility is besides of peculiar importance during the flight season, erstwhile training is conducted practically throughout the day. “This season, from April to the end of September, we fly in 3 shifts, from 5.00 am to 24.00 pm”, added Colonel Weltrowski.
Investment in state defence

This is the nest where our future pilots and crew build their cognition to turn it into defence in the future," said Colonel Krzysztof Szymanec during the beginning ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of National Defence Stanisław Wzątek. The deputy head of the MON stressed that the beginning of the Pilot home is the next phase of the improvement of the university and confirmation of the importance of Dęblin for Polish aviation. – This is the next stage, but besides the success of the university, which shows that in these over 100 years of existence Orląt School It is experience and skills, shaping the character of young pilots and all the air forces; it is Dęblin – said the Deputy Chief of the Ministry. He besides pointed out the rapidly changing safety environment. “The threats that are around us force us to be ready for all challenge,” said Wątek and pointed out investments in the improvement of Polish armed forces and the acquisition of modern equipment, including F-16, F-35 and Apache helicopters. He pointed out that modern weapons require equally modern training facilities.

Over 2000 sqm for training
The agreement with the Warsaw company T4B Construction Sp. z o.o. for the construction of the LAW Pilot home signed on July 10, 2024. The full cost of the task amounted to PLN 25,380,041, of which PLN 22,849,000 was donated to MON and PLN 2,531,041 was financed by the Aviation Military Academy.
The fresh facility has a construction area of 1399.13 m2 and its full area is 2775.98 m2. In turn, the usable area is 2185.48 m2. The Cuba of the Pilot home reaches 13 042 m3 with a dimension of 81.90 m, a width of 21.29 m and a tallness of 12.25 m.
The building was designed for 111 flight and safety personnel training. In addition to office rooms, there are relaxation rooms for pilots, sauna, gym, men's and women's locker rooms, sanitary and sanitary facilities and method facilities.
However, the most crucial part is the training infrastructure. On the level there was a briefing area for 16 people. On the ground level there is simply a briefing area of 48 people, a mission planning area for 16 people, 2 preparation rooms for flights of 16 seats each and a briefing step area for 16 more participants. The investment is complemented by fresh pavements and car parking.
