Lower Silesian territories supply assistance to Wroclaw’s medical centre

On Sunday afternoon, a major accident occurred at the University Clinical infirmary in Wrocław, which deprived part of the power facility. The Lower Silesian territorialists from the 16th OT Brigade and soldiers from the 1st Bomb Squadron in the Bank went to help. Around 2:00 a.m., the military delivered a container field power plant to the hospital. Currently, there is the removal of the causes of the accident.

The deficiency of electricity at the University Clinical infirmary in Wrocław is simply a consequence of the leak of the water installation. As a consequence of the rupture, the water flooded the station's transformer station. The hospital's emergency department was besides out of operation. any of the ambulances were directed to another hospitals in the city.

Yesterday an application for assistance to the MON and the Ministry of abroad Affairs was sent by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Anna Żabska. With the approval of the Minister of National Defense, the Lower Silesian territorialists immediately launched the action, who, with the support of the bomb squads from the Bank, delivered the KEP 900 field power plant to the infirmary at night, which consists of 2 high-power aggregates. Additionally, 1 device was provided by the Government strategical Reserve Agency.

– Thanks to the aid of the Brest bomb squad, who arrived with the Jelcz multilift vehicle, allowing carrying loads of up to 16 tonnes, the containers were rapidly transported to the hospital. After little than 10 hours after the deployment of forces and resources, the 16th Lower Silesian OT Brigade was ready to operate on site. Currently, the infirmary has already provided power – says Captain Marcin Podaj, press spokesperson for 16 DBOT.

It will take a fewer days to correct the failure in the Wroclaw hospital. Thanks to fast military action and the launch of replacement power there was no request to evacuate patients. The aggregates supply key parts of the building, including intensive care units and medical gas supply installations. Starting tomorrow, the treatment centre is back on schedule.
