"The Gierasimov Doctrine": The fall of the story about Russia?

For respective years now, the concept of "Doctrina Gierasimova" has been in the public debate, both in the media and in strategical analyses. It is expected to describe the framework of the Russian hybrid war strategy, combining military action with misinformation, economical pressure, cyber attacks and sabotage. However, more and more studies show that the "Gierasimov doctrine" is simply a public term, miscredited to Russian strategical documents. In fact, we are dealing with a story that arose in the West and introduced a confusing thought shortcut into circulation.
