The construction of an additional barrier begins in the Podlaskie Voivodeship on the Polish border with Belarus. By the spring of 2026 there will be a double barrier line of 4 and 2 metres high. Concertina scrolls will supplement them. The assembly of the fences will be carried out by engineering troops, and the materials are already being shipped along the border. The Ministry of abroad Affairs granted the investment.

– The boundary will never be full impermeable, but our goal is to make it as hard as possible to push it and to respond quickly. The fresh barriers are intended to be specified an additional barrier, the second line of defence, which will increase the effectiveness of the full system," said Gen. Sławomir Klekotka, Commandant of the Podlaskie Border defender Branch during a gathering with journalists on Thursday 13 November.
Currently The protection base remains the steel barrier with a dimension of 186 km and a tallness of 5.5 m erected on the Podlasie section. At the same time, the Ministry of abroad Affairs informed that as of Monday 17 November it was restoring movement at 2 border crossing points with Belarus in the Podlaskie province: Kuźnica Białostock-Bruzgi and Bobrownik-Bierestowice. They were closed in September in consequence to Russian military exercises. Both passages will be open to passenger traffic, and in Borrowers besides for coaches and limited freight traffic.
The protection of the Polish east border would not be possible without the support of the army. Soldiers of the Polish Army service defender and patrol side by side with the Border Guard. During the highest period the engagement reached respective 1000 soldiers, present it is about 4,000 military.
