In the framework of social assistance, 1 of the benefits granted is simply a fixed allowance whose grant depends on the fulfilment of circumstantial criteria. Until now, the maximum amount of this allowance was PLN 719, but according to the information leg artis from 1 January 2024 it is expected to increase to up to PLN 1000 per month. So who can number on these additional resources?
Persons who fulfil certain financial and life conditions are entitled to a permanent allowance. This includes both single-parents who, by reason of age or full incapacity to work, have income below the defined income criterion and household members incapable to work due to age or deficiency of employment, whose income is lower than the defined income criterion per individual in the family. This increase is intended to support these groups of people by expanding the resources granted under the permanent allowance.
Who is entitled to a permanent allowance?
The Ministry of household and Social Policy points to 2 main categories of persons who qualify for a permanent allowance. The first group includes adult single-parents, who, due to their age (at the age of 60 for women or 65 for men) or full incapacity for work, have income below the established income criterion for a single-lived person, which is PLN 776.
The second group of eligible persons are adults surviving with a household who are besides incapable to work due to age or full inability to take up employment. In this case, in order to qualify for the permanent benefit, both their own income and the income per individual in the family, they must be lower than the defined income criterion per individual in the family, which is PLN 600.
As of January, fixed allowance increases
Soon the minimum amount of the permanent allowance will emergence from the current 30 PLN to 100 PLN, while the maximum amount will emergence from 719 PLN to 1000 PLN. This warrant covers single persons, where the grant of the benefit is based on the difference between 130% of the income criterion of the individual afraid and its actual income. However, for a household associate who is incapable to work, the benefit will be the difference between the amount accounting for 130% of the income criterion per individual and the actual income attributable to that individual in the family.
Who is not entitled to a fixed allowance?
A individual who collects a social pension, a nursing allowance, a peculiar care allowance, a guardian allowance, a single child-residence allowance or a failure of the right to unemployment benefit due to the expiry of the legal period of his or her entitlement shall not be entitled to a permanent allowance.
