Although there are no regulations requiring the President's spouses to resign, they are not usually working professionally. Theoretically, they could proceed their professional activity, but in practice it would be difficult, due to the fact that the responsibilities associated with e.g. accompanying the spouse are time-consuming. All of the president's spouses, including Marta Nawrocka, who worked for the National taxation Administration for 17 years, decided to abandon the current economical activity.

The first woman has a number of responsibilities, but their scope depends on her. He accompany his husband in crucial events, meetings, trips and diplomatic visits. It besides remains socially active and charitable, promotes culture, education, and has typical functions. And he does it for free, although it is worth noting that the costs associated with it are covered by the President's Chancellery from the typical budget.
The problem is that the position of the first woman has not yet been legally regulated. It was only from 2021 that the state paid ZUS contributions for it, which means that the years of the husband's presidency will no longer be "taken out" of life and will receive a pension for them. However, he does not formally work, has no office and receives no remuneration. That could change. The Sejm received a petition concerning "a compensation certificate for the spouse of the president of the Republic of Poland".

The petition was filed in the Sejm in late October 2025. She went to the petition committee in November. According to Fact.pl, the benefit would compensate for the earnings lost during their presidency. The benefit "in connection with suspension or termination of work" would be paid in the amount of average monthly earnings from the last 12 months before the president takes office.
