On Saturday 24 June, around 12 o'clock at the Grunwald Memorial in Krakow, on the anniversary of the Versailles Treaty, a demonstration under the slogan “Dmowski na Wawel” was started.

United on the common subject

The rain did not prevent about 500 people from gathering at the Grunwald Memorial in Krakow. The demonstration was attended by representatives of the Kamrat nationals from various regions of Poland, including as far apart as Lublin and Szczecin.

President of the Assembly, Wojciech OlszańskiDuring the opening, he mentioned the character Roman Dmowski and other, sometimes forgotten figures from the past of Poland, deserved for Polish national identity. However, there were no shortages of references to the current situation, including the engagement of Poland in the war in Ukraine, why the assembled were loudly opposed.

The gathered had various banners, both identifying, regional and referring to current events, specified as “The genocide of Poles in Volyn” or “The Empire of Evil”. However, it was dominated by the white-red Polish flag, which in Krakow – symbolically – has not occurred at least since the beginning of the fresh phase of the war in Ukraine.

In defence of the Polishness of the Kraków market

The march then went on the way to Wawel, stopping at the Mickiewicz Monument in the Kraków market, where the Movement of 16 Postulates and the Malopolska Bunt symbolically supported, which have been guarding the monument for respective months before the banner activists, coming there with nationalistic Ukrainian symbols.

Participants attached the Polish flag to the hand of 1 of the characters on the monument, and declared that they would not give this place to strangers. Despite police resistance, the yet white-red flag swept over the monument.

Wojciech Olszański, in his speech before the monument, pointed out that this place is “not allowed to be given to strangers”, and we are drawn into an alliance with a country that honors the murderers of Poles, Stepan Bandera. Ironically, he besides asked how much of our money is sent for this purpose, which we could allocate to Polish children. The demonstrators explicitly condemned the transfer of further arms supplies and support to Kiev.

With the slogans “Here is Poland” and “Kraków – the city of Poles”, the march went further, to the destination, i.e. to the square in front of Wawel. There, various representatives spoke, supporting the thought of moving Roman Dmowski's body to the crypt on Wawel.

A Bad Epilogue

The leader of the Kamrat Rodaks, Wojciech Olszański, was detained by the police after the march. According to his words, the prosecutor “arrested” a sweatshirt on which he had 2 Cavalry Crosses, a lizard of the Lizard Society of 1398 and the death badge of the National Armed Forces. How they broke Polish law – at this minute it is unknown.

At the same time, it should be noted that according to the participants of the march from Krakow, no criminal work has met Ukrainians going out to their demonstrations with the OUN-UPA symbols.

Disturbing circumstances besides concern the vanishing Polish flag from the monument of Mickiewicz. The representatives of the Malopolska Rebellion claim that this has already happened 5 times, and the police are incapable to identify the perpetrators, blocking the "watch failure".
