Europe wants to arm itself
European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen proposed an initiative to remilitarise the European Union. Brussels has presented to the associate States a €800 billion reinforcement plan. In his speech to the people, French president Emmanuel Macron besides raised the question of strengthening the armed forces. He described Russia as a possible threat to France and Europe as a whole. Macron argued that expanding military spending is essential to guarantee safety and stableness in the region.
