Don't we truly deserve more? Where are the awesome duels, the violent attacks, the ideological disputes and the feeling that this is about more than just getting to any election day that no 1 truly wants anymore?
This run is not and will most likely not get interesting soon, due to the fact that candidates consciously avoid the most crucial topics.
Leader in the Face of Crisis
Rafał Trzaskowski left a full world-view agenda on the side, which over the years defined this policy, as it was assessed that it could pose a threat in the second circular of elections. Karol Nawrocki fights windmills, attacking with the passion of Ukrainians, avoiding declaring himself in any case (or does not know what is going on or afraid of Poles' reaction to revealing their actual views). Mentzen organizes tic-tok live, plastic meetings, where he gives the same communes about the European Union or that discrimination is fun.

It is hard to see in all this the fight for competitive visions of Poland. Everyone wants it to be safer, to varying degrees they are clinging to God's spirit of guilty Ukrainians, or they are telling how to care for national interests in the European Union. Presidential elections, that's not truly parliamentary elections. Here the decision was made: although the way it was implemented for many Poles, including the voters of this coalition, remains disappointing.
But the presidential run is not even in a programual sense a real playoff or evaluation of a half-meter of coalition regulation – mainly due to the weakness of opposition candidates who are locked up in the right-wing imaginarium, escaping from besides complicated, apparently, reality.
However, there is 1 area of competence for the President, where his power is not purely symbolic. The president is the ultimate head of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, who, at the request of the Prime Minister, appoints the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces.

In this function we request competence, strength of character, iron will. We request a politician who will be able to meet the most hard challenges in the hr of trial, who will be able, first of all, to strive for that test never to happen.
The President's powers in defence, the appointment and dismissal of generals, including the "priority" is simply a real prerogative, as is the function of the president as a global spokesperson for Poland, peculiarly active where the head of state is presidents: in the USA, France, Ukraine or... Russia.
New times, fresh responsibility
Trump's will towards Europe means that NATO's future as it stands is uncertain. What model of defence and allied cooperation we choose will be absolutely crucial to our security. A bit of this is mentioned by Trzaskowski, although the vote on "do you want to cooperate with Europe" and at the same time "do you want to cooperate with the US" in meetings with voters do not build the seriousness of specified dilemmas.
The government takes crucial initiatives: encouraging military service, redirecting funds from KPO to widely understood security. However, the election run is going on next door, as if political reality existed in any kind of virtual space.

What the president thinks about advanced prices or taxes doesn't substance much. Of course, he has a negative force, he may and frequently veto the laws of political opponents, and from this point of view, if we do not want to have a complete blockade in this crucial time for Poland, is the president from the same camp as the current coalition – even for the later settlement of this camp from promises and from whether they stood up to the task in preparing Poland for a possible conflict.
We live in an era of geopolitical turbulence. The Polish president must realize the planet in which we came to live and be able to meet the challenges that he poses to Poles. That's what this run should be about.
Maybe it'll be easier to pay her a small attention.
