We request to build a strong civilian defence – Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz appealed to the Wielkopolska local government, with whom he met present in Poznań.

– The combination of military, self-government, all centres of power and citizens for safety is an absolute necessity. [...] This is simply a real regular patriotism," said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz after a gathering with local authorities from Wielkopolska. The “War – Local Government” conference in Poznań discussed the cooperation of local authorities with the Ministry of Defence and joint efforts to make military infrastructure.

The head of the MON stressed that a strong society is 1 of the safety pillars on which the government is committed. “We are implementing the civilian Defence Act and it is done with the engagement of local governments,” he said. This includes investments specified as the construction of shelters for the population, warehouses of specialised equipment, the retrofitting of state and volunteer fire brigades and cybersecurity investments. The gathering with local authorities besides discussed the improvement of road infrastructure and about redeployment from the National Recovery Plan, i.e. 30 billion PLN, which will scope the safety and Defence Fund. As Kosiniak-Kamysz pointed out, it is the local governments that will mostly carry out tasks financed from this money.

– I presented the assumptions of our Act on Critical and strategical Infrastructure and the velocity of administrative decisions to establish this infrastructure," Kosiniak-Kamysz said. “I thank the local governments for submitting areas that can be utilized for military training and investment. Local governments that give their own contribution will be awarded – he added.

Another area of cooperation between local governments and the military, which the head of the MON mentioned, is universal military training. The Deputy Prime Minister besides recalled that there is work to be done on the issue of a manual on emergency response. “This year it will scope all Polish house,” he said and added, that there are besides talks with the Polish Post Office on the distribution of this publishing house.
