ATLANTA- Delta Airlines (DL) will launch a new safety video this April titled ‘A Hundred Years of Safety’ as part of its 100-year celebration. The video will combine essential safety instructions with historical elements.
Delta’s 100-year evolution will feature 11 Delta logos and 10 employees wearing historically accurate uniforms provided by the Delta Flight Museum. Longtime Delta passengers will recognize a special appearance by ‘Deltalina,’ the iconic flight attendant from the airline’s 2008 safety video.

The safety video, which will be viewed by hundreds of thousands of daily passengers, underwent extensive development in collaboration with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure all regulatory requirements were met.
The video contains mandated safety information including emergency exit locations, oxygen mask usage instructions, and evacuation procedures.
“These quintessential uniforms and references not only demonstrate just how much has changed throughout the last 100 years of air travel – including habits, fashion and culture – but that Delta’s commitment to safety has always been our top priority.”

Flight Attendants: Delta’s Front-Line Safety Professionals
Delta flight attendants have served as the primary safety personnel aboard flights since the first “stewardesses” began working for the airline in 1940.
New flight attendants complete a comprehensive seven-week training program at Delta’s Atlanta headquarters covering everything from turbulence response to medical emergencies.
The rigorous training includes technical knowledge of 9 different aircraft types, operating procedures for 16 door and window variations, and customer service skills.
Flight attendants also participate in recurrent training to maintain FAA and TSA compliance standards, with Delta conducting regular audits of safety procedures.
“Air travel is the safest form of transportation, and that’s because safety is embedded into every aspect of our business and the industry. Delta’s ability to creatively draw attention to these safety elements on the more than 165,000 seatback screens throughout our fleet helps further ensure everyone on board is informed and ready to act should the need arise.”
– Kristen Manion Taylor, S.V.P, In-Flight Service, Delta Airlines

Delta Flight Attendants Uniform with Time
Delta flight attendants receive their wings during a special graduation ceremony where they don their first official uniform. These uniforms represent both their professional achievements and Delta’s brand identity.
“The Delta uniform is an extension of who we are – a globally recognized, premium brand built on a set of core values, including safety, service excellence and reliability.”
-Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Managing Director, Onboard Strategy and Experience
The design of Delta uniforms incorporates employee feedback, safety requirements, and fashion trends that have evolved significantly over the airline’s century-long history.
Delta prioritizes safety above all operational considerations. The airline maintains strict safety standards and empowers employees to take necessary precautions, including slowing or stopping operations when safety concerns arise.
