The President's delegation to miners strike underground

Ministers of the Chancellery of the president of the Republic of Poland went to the Silesia mine miners in Czechowice-Dziedzice. According to the trade unionists, talks are to be an introduction to further decisions on the destiny of the crew, which has been conducting spontaneous protests since Monday, refusing to go to the surface after the change has been completed.

The miners request that the private Silesia mine be covered by the shields provided for in the revised Mining Act, which are utilized by employees of state companies. For the staff of Silesia, it is crucial due to the fact that they are presently excluded from the strategy of mining leave and severance.

There were respective people underground at night, another protesting on the surface. The crew is provided with medical care and basic support. The action has not stopped mining and, as the unions emphasize, is not formally a strike.
