Data from the LHC confirm a fresh model of proton collisions. Quantum mechanics works even in the most chaotic conditions

When protons collide with tremendous energies in particle accelerators, the subatomic planet turns into real chaos. Quarks and gluons - the basic "building blocks" that make up protons - interact innumerably, virtual particles appear and disappear, and the full strategy resembles boiling water. Intuition suggests that specified a phase of the collision should be much more "disordered" than what we observe later, erstwhile ready-made hadrons fly out of the collision area.
