— There is no another country to occupy, even if there is an argument of global security, Frederiksen addressed the Americans in English at a press conference aboard a Danish patrol vessel.
She recalled earlier that Denmark has always respected the United States and inspired America. “But erstwhile you request to take over part of the territory of the Danish kingdom erstwhile we are threatened by our closest ally, what are we to think of the country we have admired for so many years?” Frederiksen asked. “You know us and you know we will not give up,” she said.
Frederiksen wants to strengthen safety in the Arctic
The head of the Danish Government referred to the request to comply with global law. “These are the basic principles created after planet War II, so that tiny countries do not fear the large ones,” she recalled.
Frederiksen, asked by journalists if the Danish authorities were trying to arrange a gathering with U.S. president Donald Trump, replied that "she wants a close and appropriate dialog with the American administration". “We want to strengthen safety in the Arctic, and we will be happy to cooperate with the Americans in this regard,” she declared.
The Prime Ministers of Denmark on board the ship were accompanied by representatives of the Greenland authorities: the future Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen of the Democratic organization and the outgoing Mute B. Egede of the left-wing organization of IA.
