We live in a planet where images of the past are increasingly passing through the technology filter. Archival photos are colored, smoothed, “improved”, adapted to contemporary aesthetics. The faces of children going into the gas chambers become calmer and thus little violent reality. What should shake is beginning to look almost bearable. Sometimes it's beautiful. It's a very dangerous shift. due to the fact that if we take the focus of the past, if we alleviate the image of suffering, we gradually lose the ability to truly realize it," says Magdalena Parys.
