I don't care about the fall of the Holown Party. The parties are just tools – they wear out and disappear.
I care about something far more dangerous: math.
The pro-democracy electorate in Poland is not rubber. That's not 60 or 70 percent of the population. It's a constant balance on the edge. In 2023, only a fewer percent were needed to remove the nationalist-authoritarian block from power. Just a minute.
How many will say that it is simply a "treason" that "there is no 1 left to vote for" that "all are the same"?
Not going to elections is not a motion of dignity. It's a gift. And this is simply a very circumstantial gift for very circumstantial people. History has already shown us that 1 million pro-democracy votes lost by inactivity were adequate to win Nawrock's political amorality. That in Catholic country Catholics chose evil.
If in 2027 any pro-democratic voters stay at home, the power will come back to the hands of those who dream of a country closed, vindictive and out of control. Those who will introduce Putinism in Poland will win – a strategy that draws the worst from Fascism and Communism.
Kaczyński, Bosak, Braun, Nawrocki, Nawrocki will enslave Poland and it is so that only a bloody revolution will be able to free it someday in the future.
This will not be a "punishment to the elite". It'll be a punishment for all of us.
Today I think this script is frighteningly real. But I inactive believe that reason and values can be converted into mobilisation, not surrender. And that this will keep our democracy from falling apart.
