The political breakthrough in Germany is evident. In February elections will take place and everything indicates that CDU/CSU will take over with CDU head Friedriech Merzem as Chancellor. What this means for Germany's relation with the US in Donald Trump's day and what the Merz government's relations with Donald Tusk's crew will be said on PCh24 tv by Dr. Krzysztof Rak.
According to Dr. Krzysztof Rak Friedrich Merz, head of the CDU, will be in Donald Trump's day from the position of German interests a better chancellor than Olaf Scholz.
– When Friedrich Merz was de facto removed from his political career by Angela Merkel, he spent respective years in business. He mainly worked with the US. He was a associate of a large American law firm, and worked for the celebrated BlackRock investment fund. He has quite a few practice in dealing with Americans – and earned millions of euros. If he knows the American business, he'll be better at dealing with Americans than Scholz. – he said.
According to Dr. Rak, Friedrich Merz may leave the climate agenda. Germany has no money present that would let the improvement of "green" infrastructure. Therefore, it is essential to focus on another energy model.
As the talker of PCh24 tv stressed, Germany would like to return to buying natural materials from Russia, but as long as there is simply a war in Ukraine, there is no possibility. It won't be that easy after the war.
– I don't believe that Germany will be able to return to gas business with Russia in the next fewer years without the approval of the US, without Trump's approval. It is impossible due to the fact that Americans have a “hold” on Germany – he said. As Dr. Krzysztof Rak added, America depends on exporting its own energy resources to Germany.
Today, Germany has the largest surplus in trade with the US, so from the position of their economical model, based on exports, relations with America are crucial. Trump's announcement to increase customs duties is simply a deadly threat, especially with problems with energy resources. – Merz will gotta deal with Trump about customs, so as to at least keep the position quo. said Dr. Krzysztof Rak.
The expert besides talked about the function played by the AfD organization in German politics today.
– The German Establishment has no thought how to solve problems and challenges facing the German economy and the German society. In the next 4 years, the establishment parties will rule. It will prove that these parties will not have the courage to make a return - He said.
As he stressed, AfD strengthens its position throughout the country, including in the western lands. In particular, the organization feeds on Germany's poorness as a consequence of the current crises and this makes it likely to proceed to grow. However, there is no possible that the group could enter the government after the February 2025 election, and most likely not later. To take power, the alternate would gotta have over 40 percent support, as in 2019 the Law and Justice Office in Poland. Today, specified a script does not seem to be possible in the coming years, besides due to the fact that political and media stableness is very effective in the German national Republic; at the beginning of this year he conducted a large propaganda run hitting AfD and it turned out to be rather effective, due to the fact that it reduced support for the alternate by respective percent points.
Dr Krzysztof Rak besides spoke about possible Polish-German relations for Friedriech Merz's future government. Theoretically Donald Tusk should have a good relation with him, as he has built relationships with the German chade. – Except it was about Angela Merkel's crew. said Dr. Cancer.
– Now the CDU-CSU will be ruled by a fresh team. As we look at this last year of Polish-German relations, which was to be a year of large successes, and turned out to be a year of serious failures and disappointed hopes, we will find that the main problem in Polish-German relations is the deficiency of partnership. Regardless of the squad that's in charge, we have this problem. - He said.
According to Dr. Krzysztof Rak, Germany is not necessarily ready to abandon the paternalist speech in relations with Poland, and we cannot convince them to do so.
– The CDU-CSU will most likely conduct a policy towards Poland, as it has done so far. I wouldn't anticipate any large progress. - He said.
