Family 800 plus (until 2024 household 500 plus) is simply a program to aid families rise children through monthly educational benefits for each kid of 800 PLN (until 2024 500 PLN). It has been implemented in Poland since 1 April 2016. Those who have raised children earlier feel unfair about it. They'd like an equalization.

They're going to introduce back 800 plus? Pensioners have been fighting for this for years
On July 15, 2023, a petition concerning the pension allowance of PLN 800 for pensioners who "taught their children, educated them, bought them apartments and even received household benefits from the Polish state" was received in the Sejm. Her author calculated that now parents can number on an additional PLN 172 800 (18 years times 12 months times 800 zł).
It seems that pensioners who have raised their children and have not received any money from the state have a legitimate right to be paid an allowance for the pension of PLN 800 for each kid they have raised. It cannot be that the generation of current pensioners is inactive injured and no fruit from their hard work can receive, as they only pay taxes and contributions to the state budget without getting anything in return
- the content of the document, available for inspection on gov.pl. The second proposal of seniors is: PLN 400 a period to all parent-emeritus who raised 1 child, and PLN 800 a period to a parent who raised at least 2 children. 2 years ago, the petition went to president Andrzej Duda's Chancellery and then to the Sejm and in 2025 it was resubmitted.

Will there be changes in 800 plus? The law gives a clear answer
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy responded to the petition. It informed that the existing provisions of the State Aid Act on kid rearing do not supply for pension allowances.
In September 2025 the case was dealt with by the Bureau of Experts and Impact Assessment, operating in the Chancellery of the Sejm. Dr. Magdalena Szczepańska prepared a legal opinion. She stressed that the lex retro non agit principle, the law does not work backwards. She added that the subject of "back 800 plus" was not clarified. For example, there is simply a deficiency of information on whether the witnessing would accumulate with another privileges or how to treat years erstwhile the parent was not working. In addition, the proposal limits the payment of benefits only to the parents of the pensioners, i.e. with the omission of persons who are actual guardians, legal guardians, foster families and directors of social services homes. According to Szczepanska, this can be considered unjustified and discriminatory. All of this creates verification difficulties and raises doubts about compliance with the rule of justice. She recommended that the petition be rejected.
