Czech Republic: F-35 to replace Gripens

The government of the Czech Republic authorized defence Minister Jana Černochova to begin negotiations with the U.S. government on the acquisition of the 5th generation F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Thus, the information obtained by Defence24 during the ILA 2022 air show in Berlin was confirmed. The machines would enter service erstwhile the lease of Swedish JAS39 Gripen fighters expires in 2027.
