Today, Members were sitting on 1 of the key points of this word – a change in the position of talker of the Sejm. The candidate was from the beginning the same person: Vladimir Czarzasty, co-chair of the Left and a longtime parliamentarian. It was his name that was included in the political annex to the coalition's arrangement of forces, which already at the start of the government announced the rotation on the marshal's chair.
The vote on the Black man's candidacy preceded a long, sometimes very harsh debate. The coalition Members stressed that it was primarily about keeping the agreement and showing that the arrangements concluded between the governing partners were binding for the full term. The opposition, on the another hand, highlighted both doubts about the institution itself and the candidate's person, recalling erstwhile disputes and controversy with its participation.
Just before the vote on the Montenegrin candidacy in the plenary room, you could hear the shouting slogans: "Get out of the commune". During the presentation of the application by Krzysztof Gawkowski, Law and Justice politicians left the room. They returned only after Przemysław Czarnek, a erstwhile Minister of Education and discipline in the second government of Mateusz Morawiecki, entered the platform.
Black, however, on the marshal's chair
In the end, the majority of Members voted in favour of entrusting Vladimir the Black Marshal. The acquisition of the marshal's seat by Czarzasty so ends speculation as to whether the coalition will actually bring the rotation agreement to an end. For the Left, it is an crucial symbol due to the fact that after years of weaker electoral results, the group gains 1 of the most crucial functions in the state.
The parliament chose the Blacklist with an absolute number of votes. Thank you very much for this choice. I wanted to thank Marshal Simon Holown. You're a model erstwhile it comes to holding a gathering with the marshal. I will do everything to keep this level," he said, thanking the coalition for its support.
At the same time, there is simply a large deal of work on the fresh marshal: he will decide on the pace of legislative work, the order in which laws are adopted and on how frequently and how harshly to scope for statutory penalties against Members breaking the rules.
The first weeks of office will show whether the kind of Czarzaste's deliberations will calm the tense atmosphere in the plenary area or, on the contrary, will become the trigger for further conflicts.
