An investigation into the accident that occurred yesterday at Radom Airport was launched today. It is carried out to origin a disaster in air traffic resulting in the pilot's death. Piotr Skiba, spokesperson for the Warsaw territory Prosecutor's Office, has given specified information present in Radom.

A tragedy happened last night.. During the test flight before the air show, the F-16 aircraft crashed from the base on the Poznań Krzesiny. Maciej “Slab” Krakowian was killed on the spot. From the first moments of the disaster, there are investigators working on the scene. – 14 military prosecutors from Warsaw and Lublin were seconded to conduct a wide-ranging survey at the Radom base. This figure has been dictated by a very large area in which an examination should be carried out. We are talking about an area of 20 ha – emphasized Piotr Skiba, spokesperson for the Warsaw territory Prosecutor's Office during today's press conference in Radom.
The area was divided into 5 sectors. There are respective investigators supported by soldiers of the Military Police and experts from the Air Aviation Accident Investigation Commission at the MON. The airport was besides illustrated respective times with a drone.
As Skib admits, the plane continued to fly for nearly a kilometer after hitting the ground, leaving the runway twice. The components of the device were besides scattered on adjacent green areas. It is not known how long it will take to inspect and collect parts of the aircraft. The D.A.'s spokesperson emphasizes that investigators would like to do so as shortly as possible. This applies in peculiar to work within the runway. – There are quite a few crews, including abroad ones, who would like to leave Radom. In order to do this safely, we request to thoroughly check the site of the crash," says Skiba.
The D.A. besides reported that investigators found the black box. The recording will be played as shortly as possible. This may be done by a specialised centre abroad. “I am not convinced that Poland has specified a laboratory,” admits Skiba. The pilot's body has besides been recovered from the wreckage. They went to the Department of Judicial Medicine. - Doctors will do an autopsy today. The most crucial issue is to examine the body utilizing specialized devices, including a tomograph," emphasizes the prosecutor.
The hearings of witnesses are ongoing – the personnel of the Air Base and maintenance 31 Tactical Aviation Base in Poznań, where the pilot served and where the aircraft came from. Investigators secured the machine's method documentation and took fuel samples.
Today, the D.A. has besides initiated an authoritative disaster investigation. It is being conducted on the origin of the plane crash which led to the pilot's death. According to Skiba, investigators are considering 3 possibilities – method failure, man mistake or plane failure. “At this phase of the investigation, we do not have any information that the disaster could origin intentional actions by 3rd parties,” the prosecutor emphasises.
The Ombudsman besides referred to information provided by Polsat News journalists. According to them, 2 dangerous incidents were to happen at Radom Airport late – harm to Bryza aircraft during landing and planting on Orlik's belt with a closed chassis. – I confirm that there are 2 proceedings in the Military Department of the territory Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw concerning events at the airport in Radom. I have not been authorized to supply information on precisely what is their subject, but I can say that as a result, no 1 has suffered any damage. At this stage, we do not combine them in any way with the tragedy that occurred yesterday,” concluded Skiba.
