A spokesperson for the Cypriot government stated on Saturday,
that the United Kingdom will not usage its bases in Cyprus for any offensive activities
in view of the Iranian crisis.
Earlier, Cyprus president Nikos Christodulidis spoke to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the phone.
"British Prime Minister [Keir Starmer] reiterated that British bases in Cyprus would not be utilized for any offensive military operations", said the spokesperson
in a written statement. Starmer was besides to guarantee that the safety of the Republic of Cyprus is
for the United Kingdom a fundamental substance
and to this end, it was decided to "enhance preventive measures".
