At the end of March, the course “Agrikola-C” will be completed for candidates for territorial defence military officers specialising in cyberspace-related topics. The course includes specialized training from environmental survival. Classes are conducted by SERE and endurance instructors from various OT brigades and training centers.
The command of the Territorial Defence Army organized the course “Agrykola-C” for candidates for the Polish Army officers – safety specialists cyberspaceand. – The next edition of the task is attended by respective soldiers from various OT brigades and from Cyberspace Action Team office of the Territorial Defence Army, says a typical of the DWOT press team.
As part of the “Agrykola-C” course, soldiers supply training, during which they learn about various endurance techniques. Experienced instructors from respective brigades, including 9 Łódź BOT and 8 Kujawsko-Pomorskie BOT, as well as training centers, including the WOT Training Centre, taught territorialists how to last in hard terrain conditions. This was not a classical SERE course, which is implemented according to a well-defined program and time frame. – We had more flexibility, which allowed us, as instructors, to make and improve our own training methods. We could spend more time on circumstantial issues, introduce different techniques, specified as fire-fire or water-supply, and share the experience that we have gained over the years – admits Wojciech, the SERE teacher from the 9th Łódź Territorial Defence Brigade, a erstwhile soldier of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade.
During the training, soldiers learned, among others, the secrets of the usage of individual equipment, the construction of improvised shelters, the acquisition and treatment of water, as well as the determination of their own location in the field and the location. – Each part of the training was carried out under our eyes. We taught students how they could cope in the natural environment, for example how to prepare shelter depending on the weather conditions. If individual knows what to do and has it in his head, he can handle it in all conditions – said erstwhile soldier 25 BKPow.
Instructors besides showed how available materials can be practically used, specified as elements remaining after military food rations, from which improvised tools or parts of equipment can be made, allowing to increase the chances of endurance in hard terrain conditions. Many students first participated in this kind of training. – They did not have fixed bad habits, so we could build the right attitudes from the beginning erstwhile learning them with different techniques. After applicable classes and fixation by soldiers, we can presume that they will be able to usage the skills acquired during training decently in real-life situations," the teacher adds.
"Agrykola-C" is simply a specialized course preparing candidates for Polish Army officers – specialists in the field of cyberspace. The name refers to the school of the "Agrakola" infantry reserve established in 1941 by the National Army office Diversification Board. The task is based on experience gained from ‘Agricola’ Officer Course. respective of its editions were organized for soldiers serving territorial military service, and the training program was developed in 2017 by the Territorial Defence Army Command and representatives of the Department of discipline and Higher Education of the MON. According to the assumptions, training under the “Agrykola” officer course lasts 13 months and takes place in stationary and rotation mode: the first period at the Academy of Land Army or Military method Academy, then 11 months in weekend mode and the last 2 weeks of training again stationary. The Agrykola-C course is shorter – the current course started in September and ends at the end of March.
