The Russian doctrine of information confrontation (ICD) has become 1 of the key abroad and safety policy instruments of the Russian Federation, combining media, cybernetic, intellectual and indirect activities, as part of a long-term rivalry with the West. It is based on the belief that the information space is simply a strategical battlefield where political objectives can be achieved below the open conflict threshold.
